Jackson Area Ministries  is located in Jackson, Ohio, an economically depressed rural Appalacian community.  Every year during the spring, garden seeds are collected to support the Green Thumb Community Gardening project.   The project reaches nearly 3,000 families through seeds, seed potatoes, and plants.  In 2019, New Hope grew over 1000 tomato, melon, pepper, and cucumber plants for the project’s outreach and planted 800 plants in the Community Garden.   The remainder of the plants were distributed to low-income households in the three-county area served by JAM.   Members also have an opportunity to participate in short-term mission projects such as making repairs to the home of low-income homeowners.
